A brief history of photography firsts!

First Photograph in history: “View from the Window at Le Gras” Joseph Nicéphore Niépcec. 1826.

First photo featuring a person: “Boulevard du Temple”, taken by Louis Daguerre in late 1838 or early 1839.

First photo portrait: Robert Cornelius, self-portrait, Oct. or Nov. 1839. The back reads, “The first light picture ever taken.”

First color photo: “Tartan Ribbon” Thomas Sutton under direct supervision of James Clerk Maxwell 1861.

First moving pictures: Eadweard Muybride’s The Horse in Motion, 1878. Put into motion via Muybride’s invention the zoopraxiscope.

First photo on the internet: “Les Horribles Cernettes” published to the world wide web in 1992, by Tim Berners-Lee.
